Super Junior Fan Fiction "Elphena (Elph)" (Final Chapter-Chapter 11)

Elph
Written By: Michele Hii
Final Chapter: Who knows? He's in front of you right now. ~ Elphena

More than a month later...
In Yokohama, Japan for Kyuhyun's Tour...
"Hey! What are you watching?" Kangin poked his head that blocked my view.
"Just the clip of Kyu's singing at Fantastic Duo." I replied, shooing him away with my hand.
"Ah I see!" he chuckled and grabbed a chair to watch the video too.
Kyu slayed the high note together with Lee Sun Hee. It was absolutely breathtaking that I was still blown away by his phenomenal voice. When they finished, Kyu looked so relieved and satisfied that he had finally ticked this moment off his dream list.
"I knew he could do it." I smiled to myself.

Leeteuk suddenly slammed the door behind him and signaled me with a twirl of his finger. I quickly stuffed my phone into my pocket and ducked behind the chair. Kangin had his eyes on the door, so were the other boys. As the door creaked open and Kyu Oppa entered in, he spoke casually to the boys first before approaching closer to my seat.
"Boo!" I pounced in front of him.
"OMO!" he gasped. He almost tripped.
We all held our stomachs as we laughed really hard. Kyu stared at us, looking gobsmacked.
"Gotcha, Oppa!" I pointed at him.
"Guess who's the devil now?" his face lit up, "I didn't know you were coming!"
I gave a toothy smile as he came over to give me a hug.
"Do you like my surprise?" I winked.
"Best one yet." he replied.

Prince Manager came in and was stunned to see me as well. He waved at me before calling out to Kyu, "Show's in five minutes."
"Roger that." he nodded. He then turned to his SuJu brothers, "You guys probably wanna go watch from backstage?"
"Or maybe we can sit somewhere in the middle of the arena." Ryeowook shrugged.
"But the fans will recognize you."
"We'll be accompanying Elphena after all."
"I...I don't know.." Kyu paced around the room.
I thought for a moment before suggesting, "Maybe I can just blend in the audience at the front row? That way people won't notice me because they all will be focused on you anyway."
"But what if I switch my focus to you?" he smirked.
"Then I'll pretend I don't know you." I joked.
He laughed and headed for the door, "Wish me luck everyone!"
"Fighting!" we all cheered.

(Thank you for the words that you haven't expressed,
I'm doing so in this song.
I love you.
I'll always be by your side.
I'll go to this place of hope as much as I want to.) (ryerascho.wordpress.com)

I waved my light stick together with the ocean of fans as Kyu sang his Japanese single "Celebration". When he finished, we all clapped and cheered.
"ありがとうございます!Thank you very much!" he bowed, "Before I sing the next song, I would like to ask a very special person to come up on stage. She's now in the audience but I want to do something with her right now."
Chatters and screams roared in the arena.
"Elphena! Come on up!" he called.
I made my way up to the gigantic platform. Kyu opened his arms like wings of an angel. I smiled and ran to indulge in his embrace. The screams grew louder.
Kyu then pointed the microphone to his mouth, "I would like to dedicate this song to my girl, Elph. Elphena Azure Wong."
"What?" I asked in surprise.
Kyu winked and signaled the other boys who were hiding behind the curtains. They walked out one by one and stood in organized positions. He then dragged me to the center of the stage and had a chair ready for me to sit.
"We're gonna sing your favourite song, "This is Love"." he smiled, "Hope you enjoy."
"No way..." I covered my mouth with my hands.

This Is Love (from smworldcouple.wordpress.com)

Yeah This is love woo~ Come on girl
Hundreds of words,
thousands of images
I see them and it’s the same,
I hear them and it’s the same
It’s a strange feeling,
it’s hard and it’s easy
Out of the many loves,
it’s the same love

The sparkling drops of water
passing by like it’ll wet me but not
That’s how each small and similar encounter felt
At first, I let down my guard
and at some point, I thought
You’re like the raindrops
that already wet my shoulders
This is love This is love
The gentle wind,
the plain flowers bloomed on the street
This is love This is love
love is about the small things
You made me realized
L.O.V.E
Our first story was written
starting from last spring
Every day is a lovely day,
now our relationship is like an honest mirror
The reason I like you?
Well, to explain it,
our love is a happiness that is faster than andante
If they ask if I have a wish
I’ll say it’s only you
I’ll stay with you forever
like a sunflower
Come a little closer so I can go completely inside
In case you melt away at the common stories
I need to write down the answers in the square called love
You came to me from far away
This is love This is love
The gentle wind,
the plain flowers bloomed on the street
This is love This is love
love is about the small things
You made me realized
This is love This is love
The clear sky,
the sun over the horizon
This is love This is love
You taught me that
everything in the world is love
Out of the plain people who will be
forgotten in a matter of seconds
I know you’re different
Like the stars, love love
Just the way it is, love love
You and me Just us two
Hold ya. Just wanna hold ya
A little closer Just wanna hold ya
This is love This is love
The gentle wind,
the plain flowers bloomed on the street
This is love This is love
love is about the small things
You made me realized
This is love This is love
The clear sky,
the sun over the horizon
This is love This is love
You taught me that
everything in the world is love
They performed the song wholeheartedly and I just sat there with a big smile. They mastered their choreography with the microphone stands and in the end, they formed a circle around me to sing the chorus. Even though five of the SuJu members were not there, they still could present their routine professionally.
"How's that for payback?" Kyu asked as he stood in front of me.
I giggled and threw my arms around him, "I love it."
The audience shrieked and waved their light sticks in glee. The other SuJu boys waved and blew air kisses at them. Meanwhile, I stared back into Kyu's eyes and locked lips with him. Our eyes were closed, our bodies leaned against each other and our hearts were joined together.
And then I remembered. I had a dream of this at first, but the kiss didn't happened. As I slightly opened my eyes, Kyu's eyes were still closed and his lips were still glued onto mine. Nope. It was not a dream at all. I closed my eyes and kissed him again with a smile.

2016
A New Beginning

New blog. New start. Sometimes all you need is to take a step back and think things through.
Hi there! My name's Elphena Azure Wong. I'm a freelance writer in Seoul, South Korea and I'm in a relationship with Super Junior's Kyuhyun. Yes, it sounds crazy but it's true. If you have checked out the news or posts on social media, the paparazzi has been chasing after us with latest activities and events together with the rest of Super Junior. But I'm not writing this to brag about our relationship. I'm writing this in my new blog to tell you readers what's on my heart right now.
Before I started this blog, I had a two-years-old popular blog where Super Junior fans from all over the world read my interviews with fans about experiencing Super Junior concerts and I never missed a single update on Super Junior's latest music, events, and appearances in films and TV shows. And all that time, I was so caught up with updating stuff besides university and internships that I hadn't had time to meet new people and think of being in a romantic relationship. But ever since I moved here from Vancouver, Canada, I had the wishing star crashing invisibly onto me. Even though I got chased by paparazzi (on bad terms) quite a few times and I faced cold responses from fans with harsh actions that not only hurt myself but also the people I love and care, I received so much encouragement from Super Junior. Oh! Yes, and my roommate Liz too. Shout out to Liz!
You might ask me how is it possible to get a K-pop idol to fall in love with a commoner? Well...it happens. It just happens out of the blue. I unexpectedly bumped into him by accident and he caught me like a chivalrous knight. And when we met each other more often, we were on this wacky ride escaping away from paparazzi and we ended up learning more about each other. Thus, it led to intimate feelings for each other.
Even a fan like you can be in a real relationship with a celebrity. So, you can either keep on dreaming or thrashing your hopes away. Because you're born to live in this world and you are to meet your destiny someday. It doesn't have to be a celebrity. There is always, and I mean always, someone out there who will be shot with an arrow by cupid and you will be the target. Who knows? He's in front of you right now.

Whoa...I didn't realized that I wrote this long. I clicked on the "Publish" button and the first post of my new blog entitled "Elph's Journey" popped up on my Macbook screen. As I reread my words posted on the sapphire blue template, a pair of hands suddenly crept from behind and my eyes were covered. I felt the smooth, fair skin touching my face.
"Oppa?" I giggled.
Kyu gave me a back hug and rested his chin on top of my right shoulder.
"Did you finish your new blog?" he asked.
"Yeap." I replied, "Do you think people will like it?"
"Let me see." he said as he read the post on my computer. When he finished, he pushed the screen down to close the laptop. I looked at him in surprise, "Wae? Do you hate it?"
"Hate it? It's good!" he grinned.
"Then why do you close my computer?"
"Because I've been waiting for you to get it done! Everyone's waiting for you!"
"Waiting for what?"
Suddenly, Kyu's phone rang with a Facetime camera activated. He pressed the green button and seven Super Junior boys were setting up tents around a to-be-built campfire.
"Heyyyyyy!" they waved.
"Hey, guys!" I waved back, "What's going on?"
"Camping!" Liz suddenly jumped in. She was clinging on Heechul who was carrying her like a macho weightlifter.
"Where?"
"Jeju guest house! Kyuhyun will take you here!" Leeteuk smiled.
"If you guys come after the sun sets, you won't have barbecue for dinner!"Ryeowook smirked.
"Okay!" I chuckled.
"We'll see you soon!" Kyu waved and hung up.

I collected my things and stuffed them into my backpack. Kyu then held my hand and swept my fringe off my eyes that was blown by the beach wind.
"I'm glad that we're here." I inhaled, "Jeju island is beautiful."
"Sure it is." Kyu replied before switching into a sly smile, "Come on! You heard them. The loser won't be getting dinner tonight!"
"Wait...huh?" I blinked.
"I won't be sharing you some of my food too." Kyu stuck out his tongue and sprinted off.
"Hey! Wait up!" I shouted and chased after him.
"Don't ever think about catching up!" he let out an evil laugh.
"Oh! We'll see about that!" I laughed.

Beyond us, the sea mirrored the evening sky that was painted in hues of orange and gold. Our feet crushed on the soft white sand as we raced to the campsite.. I let the ocean breeze hit against my face as I immersed myself into this bright-coloured paradise, just like the love Kyuhyun and I shared.

Elph

Chapter 10: You just don't know how to be an ELF~Elphena

Prince Manager quickly dropped me off at the entrance of hell. I sighed as I looked at the campus. I shouldn't be here. I didn't even know why I was told to come here again.
"I'm gonna go back to pick up the boys and I'll come back here okay?" he said.
"Got it! Thanks, Jung Hoon ssi!" I smiled and went in.

Shockingly, I still remembered the way to the dean's office. I took the elevator to the highest floor, passed by the computer labs, made an exit and stopped in front of a red door.
"Come in!" the dean's voice muffled once I knocked.
I quietly walked in. The room was silent. The two Japanese girls from my former Creative Writing class sat stiffly in front of Mr. Song Hyun. Once they turned their heads to see me, their faces were the colour of paper.
"Ah! Miss Wong!" the dean welcomed.
"What's going on?"
"Turns out that these two are the ones that turn the tables."
"Wh...what do you mean?"
"I've looked at the security cameras last night," he explained, "and I found out that Miko and Kinora were talking to the paparazzi before your class started."
I looked at the two girls and then back at the dean, "So you're saying?"
"They told the reporters that you're in their class and that's how they managed to invade in the building."
I stared at them in shock. How could they?
"And that's not all." the dean dialed a number on his desk telephone and said, "You can come in now."

Heavy footsteps could be heard from the door. As it swung open, a couple of policemen came in.
"What in the world is going on?" I exclaimed.
"Miss Wong, these two girls have committed a lot more violation than you think." the dean replied.
"Huh?"
One of the policemen stepped forward, "A K-pop star has successfully found the hackers. He reported to us that they're the ones who hacked this blog called 'SJ Insider'."
My eyes widened, "Kyuhyun? He did it?"
The other policeman came by with a set of papers stapled together, "Somehow these two girls managed to find your blog account password and break into your blog to do the hacking."
I flipped through the papers in surprise. They had the time and activity recorded from the Internet, including when they started to make my blog vanish.
"But don't worry, I've told them to retrieve your blog." the policeman said.
Oh Kyu...He must have done it before he left for Radio Star. I wished he was awake by now so that I could thank him for helping me. Not only tracking down the guilty but everything else.

The other policeman then walked to me with a thick stack of photos. There's more???
"Also, we found these two girls at the scene where the car crash happened with Cho Kyuhyun."
I looked through the photos one by one. Miko was sitting next to Kinora who was driving a grey Toyota. It collided against an Audi A7 like a crumbled paper. As the photos were zoomed in, I stopped and stared at one photo. Sitting behind the wheel of the crashed car...was my Oppa. His head leaned against the broken window. Blood oozed all over his head.
"You two...crashed...his car?" I glared at them.
Miko and Kinora didn't looked up. Their heads hung and their fingers were in fists on their laps.
It all makes sense now. But what took me by disappointment and surprise was that they weren't injured. They had successfully harmed the innocent, the K-pop idol whom they fangirled. Somehow I would blame myself, or God, for not protecting Kyu. However, if I were given a request, I wished that these two kids would refrain from hurting Kyu or anyone else.

"Miss Wong..." Kinora finally looked up and spluttered.
"Do you ever realize what you've done?" I raised my voice, "Not only you hurt me but also a K-pop star. You've ruined two human beings here. How could ever do such things to a couple who meets in an unexpected accident but eventually falls in love with each other? How could you ever let jealousy and hatred control over you to ruin my happiness? First, you snatched away my privacy which is the paparazzi back at the washrooms. Second, my interest of sharing SuJu news in my blog. And third, my one true love who has worked so hard as a Super Junior member and has found his lucky girl."
The two girls continued to stared down and kept quiet. I could feel my blood boiling with rage.

"I don't know whether you've heard me confessing everything on the radio an hour ago, but I'm just gonna say it one more time just to make myself clear." I continued, "If you love Super Junior, then you should be happy and support them. Support everything they do. Support their loved ones. Support the decisions they have made. Show love to them. Understand them. Not only them but also to other ELFs. ELFs all over the world. Do you know how many ELFs are there? Probably millions! They are all over the world, but they have their eyes on fifteen incredible men whom they cherished for many years. As for you two, you've gone way too far. You've taken Kyuhyun away from us, you should be ashamed of yourselves! I don't mean to say this but...you just don't know how to be an ELF."

I was pretty sure I noticed tears staining on their hands as they hid their faces with their hair.
The dean broke the silence with an "ahem". I took a deep breath and tucked the end of my fringe to the back of my ear.
"With that being said," the dean said, "we're kicking these two out of the university. They'll also be sent to the police station right away."
"Okay." I nodded and bowed, "Then, I guess I'm done here."
"Wait, Miss Wong." he stopped, "I also would like to apologize for what I've said to you back then. I was wondering if you would like your job back."
I stood there, facing the door. I refused to look back, "No, Mr. Song Hyun. It's okay. I don't want to come back here anymore. I'm happy with where I am now."
With one big step of my black Converse, I strutted out of the office and made my way back out of the building.

                                                                                                  *                          *                             *
"What are you doing?" Ryeowook asked as he peeked at me. His eyes became as big as saucers once he saw me pressing the "Delete Blog" button on my phone.
"Elphena! What the heck are you doing?" he yelped.
I looked back at him with a smile, "I'm removing what was once my greed and pride."
"What do you mean?"
"I think I have had enough of updating this blog. I've been chasing for recognition through interviews about experiencing Super Junior concerts and other stuff, but now...I no longer have the heart to go after people."
"But you love writing about us right?"
"Well, now that I've met you guys, I've finally know what it feels like to be Super Junior and what an ELF should really do. You all have worked so hard. You each have unique personalities. You all have your own lives. However, you love one another and work together as a team. Living with you all for the past week has been the best experience I've ever had in my life and I'm thankful for knowing you guys like this."
Ryeowook looked back at my phone which now showed the Wordpress login page.
"So...are you gonna continue writing?"
"What do you mean?"
"You've deleted your blog, which I guess you quit writing."
"Heavens no!" I exclaimed, "Just because I quit my blog doesn't mean I quit writing. I'll still be working on my novel and any other kinds of writing, but I'm just not into blogging at the moment. Maybe one day when I feel like blogging again, I'll start anew with something original."
"I see." he smiled.
"Besides, there will be no more hackers harming this blog, because it's gone for good."

Leeteuk and Kangin returned from the counter. We were still in the waiting room, hoping we were allowed to see Kyu this time. We hadn't see him since the accident last night.
"The doctor said he hasn't awakened yet, but we can go and see him in his room." Leeteuk said.
"Okay," I stood up, "gaja (let's go)."
I was the one that led the way to Kyu's ward because I remembered passing by this morning. As we quietly entered in, the patient was still lying on the bed. He wasn't moving a muscle.
"He's still in a coma?" Kangin asked
"I think so." Leeteuk agreed.
"When is he gonna wake up?" I sighed, standing next to his bed.
"I have no idea, Elphena. We just have to wait."
"He'll...open his eyes...soon, right?" I wrestled myself not to cry.
"I'm sure he will.." Ryeowook said and he rubbed my shoulder to calm me down.

We waited in silence for five minutes, but Kyu still hasn't opened his eyes.
"Do you guys maybe wanna go and grab a snack?" Kangin suggested.
"Sure." Ryeowook nodded.
"Okay." Leeteuk joined in.
"You guys go ahead. I'll let you know when he wakes up." I said.

As they left, I knelt down and reached out to his hand. It felt cold and lifeless like I couldn't feel the pulse of his heart on the veins of his wrist.
"Kyu Oppa...please open your eyes. BogoshipoNaneun...nomu nomu nomu bogoshipo...(I miss you. I really really really miss you)"
My eyes went chalky once again. I had enough of crying but my heart ached so bad that I had to let my pain go in these droplets.
I buried my head on the mattress as I shed tears on the pale blue bed sheet. Suddenly, I felt cold bony fingers stroking my hair. I froze and looked up to see him staring back with half-opened eyes.
"Oppa?" I breathed.
"It's been a while, Elph." he replied.
I clutched his hand with both of my palms as I cried harder. But this time, I was crying with relief and thankfulness. This surge of miracle has saved me from hopeless thoughts.
"Aigoo, my baby's crying again." he giggled weakly, "Come here."
I crawled onto the bed and lied on my side with my head resting on his right arm.
"How have you been?" he asked as he wiped my wet face.
"Terrible." I replied with a small laugh.
"Everything okay?"
I looked into his eyes. All I wanted was to drown into his warmness.
"I'll explain everything, but not now." I answered.
"Okay." his voice lowered.
"Oppa..."
"Yes?"
"I've been wanting to tell you that...I love you. I love you so much."
"I love you too, Elph."
He reached his hand to the back of my neck and leaned closer. My eyes were immediately closed as our lips attracted. He then pulled me close to his body and wrapped me like a cocoon. I felt safe like before, with my head nesting on his chest and my hands on his back. Thank God he's back to life.

                                                                          *                                   *                                   *
To my happiness, the scandal was no longer the bold headlines. Instead, the social media was flooded with articles and news clips of Miko and Kinora. They were sentenced to jail for an unknown period of time. Who knows when will they be released?

I put down my phone and finished packing the rest of my stuff into my suitcase.
Toiletries...contact lens...jeans that I last washed...huh? What's this?
A yellow sticky note attached on the folded jeans caught my eye. I gently peeled it off and read, "Slide this note under your door when you're done packing. And then count to ten. :)"
There was not even a name or signature written on it. Still, I checked my things and zipped the suitcase. As I sat on the bed for one last time, I felt my heart weighing down like lead. I had reflected back my week in the Super Junior dorm before, but I replayed the moments one more time. I decided not to cry this time because I had cried so much recently. There was just so much going on; however, I was blessed to have Super Junior who got my back this whole time, especially Kyu. According to the doctor after Kyu woke up from his coma, Kyu had to stay back for two more nights because they had to give him more checkups just to make sure that the blood given to his body flowed well. So I planned to ask Prince Manager to drive me to the hospital to see him before I go back to Liz's apartment. Oh! Speaking of Liz, Leeteuk and the others had given her home a new makeover. ^^ After the blood donation,SuJu helped to move the new furniture in and even fixed the door. Liz and her parents couldn't thank them enough.
Okay, that's enough of thinking, girl. You wouldn't want the boys to wait.
I knelt down on one knee and slipped the note through the bottom slit of the door. Then, I stood up and counted to ten.
"Okay! I've counted to ten! Now what?" I shouted.
No one answered. I peeked through the slit and saw that the note was missing.
"Mwo ya," I mumbled, "Maybe I should go out there?"
I slowly opened the door and walked out. The dorm was quiet. Too quiet you could hear the ticking of the clock in the living room. And the area was quite dark with only the oven timer flashed in a green "0".
"Hello? Helloooooo?" I called out, "Anybody home?"

As I spoke too soon, the lights were automatically switched on. What the heck?
"SURPRISEEEEEEE!" Super Junior, Liz, Liz's parents, Kyuhyun's parents, and Prince Manager jumped out from all corners and screamed.
My whole body was just frozen at that spot. I immediately covered my hanging jaw with my mouth.
Liz took her smartphone and snapped a picture of my face, "I'm so gonna post your reaction on Instagram." she giggled.
"What is all this?" I exclaimed.
"It's your farewell party." a velvety voice appeared from the front door.
My heart skipped a beat. Could that be...no...way!
The man with the reddish brown hair I loved to ruffle, the dark brown eyes that always hypnotized me and the smile that brightened my life especially right at this moment, approached in front of me. I stared at him for what seemed like forever.
"Annyeong, my beloved Elph." he waved.
"Kyu...Kyu Oppa!" my lips curled.
He spread his arms wide as I ran to crush my whole body onto his. My face smacked onto his chest that my nose felt like it was about to break but I didn't care.
"Whoa...since when my girl starts to gain weight?" he smirked.
"Tsk...Oppa!" I laughed as I hit his back lightly.

Everyone crowded around me and said, "AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!"
My face automatically turned bright red.
"Guys, can't you give us some space?" Kyuhyun laughed. I could tell that he was blushing too.
"But you two look sooooo cute together!" his mother squealed.
"Yeah, your mother is right." his father nodded.
"Mom! Dad! Stop it!" Kyuhyun whined.
The living room, kitchen, and dining room was filled with laughter. I looked into my Oppa's eyes and laughed too.

I was indeed flattered that they threw a surprise party for my last day staying at the dorm. Ryeowook and the others had prepared a big feast that the entire place smelt of an overflowing pot of happiness. We all sat at this long table set up by the boys and we had lots of laughter while eating their freshly-cooked dishes.
Leeteuk suddenly stood up and held his cup of rice wine, "Everyone, shall we give a toast to Elphena who has been such a wonderful sister to the SuJu household this whole week?"
"Yeah!" they all cheered.
"Oh really," I laughed, "You shouldn't have."
"Did you just call her sister?" Liz asked in surprise.
"Of course! Why wouldn't we call her that?" Leeteuk replied, "She may be a temporary member, but she'll always be a part of our family."
I smiled and stood up as well, "And I'll never forget my second family @ Super Junior."
Everyone finally got their butts off the floor and raised their glasses high.
Leeteuk began, "We're Super Juni-OH!
We repeated the quote and clinked everyone's glasses. It sounded better than bells. Even merrier than the sound of tinkling.

"Hey, Elph," Kyu tapped me on the shoulder, "Do you wanna go and get some air?"
I nodded and followed him to the balcony.
It was the two of us once more. The chatters from the party was blocked by the glass sliding doors.
"So why didn't you tell me that you got discharged from the hospital tonight? I thought you are to be released tomorrow." I said as I leaned my head on his shoulder.
"If I do that, I'll ruin the surprise." Kyu winked, "Besides the doctor said that my body recovers quicker than expected. He says that I'm a fighter."
"That's my Oppa." I smiled.

We watched the city lights that accompanied the starry night sky. It was a beautiful alive portrait.

"You should have told me you've found the hackers." I suddenly blurted out.
"I was gonna tell you," he replied, "until the accident happened."
"Oh...but still you did it before you go to work right?"
"I was five minutes late so I had to rush to the MBC building."
"I see,,,"
Kyuhyun noticed the slight frown on my face and sneakily pecked my right cheek. I smiled back at him and wrapped my arms around his waist.
"So...what happens now?" Kyu asked.
"Huh?"
"You're going back to Liz's apartment right?"
"Yeah."
"I'm gonna miss you living here. The others will miss you too."
"I'll come visit, I'm sure I will."
"But the dorm will not be the same without you."
"I know...but...I can't possibly live here forever. I mean, I still have to accompany Liz."
"Yeah, that's true..."

We stopped talking. I tried to think of something to cut the gap when suddenly Kyu reached out to stroke my hair, "Hey...uh...I've listened to the encore of the radio program and I think that is by far the best speech I've ever heard in my life."
"Really?" I relaxed my head on his chest.
"Yeah. And so...I have something to say to you."
"Okay. What is it that you wanna tell me?"
He rested his chin on top of my head and rocked me gently, "At first, I thought I could meet a person by fate, that the person I first had my eyes on was destined to be mine forever. But then, I blame myself for believing in such garbage...until you came along. Ever since I met you, I never know that my heart will go wild. And as I get even closer to you, I realize that my heart chooses you to be mine."
"Mm hmm." I nodded.
I heard a sniffle. He inhaled before saying more, "Honestly, I don't care if the fans hate the fact that we're together. I just want the world to know that I'm happy because of you. I'm the happiest man on earth because I got lucky for having you in my life."
His voice trailed off and he sniffled a few times. It was my turn to be his handkerchief this time. Like what he did to me before, I brushed my fingers on the lower lash line on both of his eyes.
"Oppa, don't cry." I whispered, "If you cry, I'll cry too."
Kyu nodded and hugged me tighter. We couldn't even let go of each other. It was my last night in the dorm, but it felt like our last night together even though we could still see each other since we're living in the same city.
"You know this is not goodbye right?" I asked.
"But it feels like one." he pouted.
"Hey, come on, don't give me that aegyo look." I giggled.
"I just want to make you happy."
"Oppa, I am happy. Really! I am! Because I have everyone here," I pointed at the party through the doors, "and I have you too."
"You took the words right out my mouth." he smiled back.

Our faces leaned at the same time as we shared a kiss. There wasn't any fireworks this time but, I could still see sparks exploding the air. ;)

Super Junior Fan Fiction "Elphena (Elph)" (Chapter 9)

Elph
Written By: Michele Hii
Chapter 9: See? I told you it's not that bad~Leeteuk

Clomps of footsteps roared through the corridor of the hospital. SuJu, Prince Manager and I rushed to the doors of the emergency room. The sign above the doors was lit up.
"It's ongoing." Kangin murmured.
"I hope he's okay." Ryeowook said.
"This is not the first time he got in a car crash," Leeteuk shook his head, "Why is this happening again?"
I stared at the operation room doors as a flashback appeared in my head. In a solemn clip from an episode of Korean variety show, Strong Heart, Kyuhyun told everyone about the car crash he was involved with Leeteuk, Eunhyuk, and Shindong back in the year 2007. Once he said that he had six broken ribs that were pierced into his lungs, I was horrified and I couldn't imagine how close he was to death in that condition.
And then he was involved in another car crash in year 2011 when he was gonna perform in "The Three Musketeers" musical. That time, his arm and leg were injured.
But what about now? What was the condition this time? I wouldn't want to know. I just want to know that he's okay...that's he's alive...he's too young to die...I just can't...
Tears came out from my eyes as I collapsed on the floor and sobbed. A gentle arm landed on my shoulders and I was pulled into a hug. "Hang in there, Elphena. Kyuhyun will be okay. I'm sure of it." Kangin whispered. That made me worse. I cried even harder. A small, doubtful voice echoed behind my head, saying "What if he won't?"
Kangin helped me out as I covered my face with my hands. He took me to the center and the entire gang formed a circle to squeeze me into a group hug.
"Hyung!" a familiar voice rang through the walkway. I peeked through my hands and saw Henry and Zhoumi coming by and spread their arms to get in the hug. We were in that bundle for one whole minute.
"We need to believe that he'll be okay." Leeteuk choked between his tears.
He was right. If we didn't have faith that Kyuhyun will be rescued by the doctors, Siwon, Donghae, Eunhyuk, Sungmin, and Shindong, who were in the army, would be worried. Very worried. And that would bring SuJu to a downfall as well.

The doors shortly swung open and out came the doctor in a blueish green surgeon suit and a blue mask.
Everyone crowded in front of him.
"Doctor! How is he?" Leeteuk asked.
The doctor removed his mask and answered, "The good news is...he's alive. We've given him stitches all over his head and there's no serous injury in his body. The bad news is he has lost a lot of blood."
"Is there anything we can do, doctor?" Leeteuk asked.
"Well...Kyuhyun's blood type is O so if you have the blood type to donate blood to him or if you can find someone with with suitable blod types to do so, he'll be back to normal in no time."

"I'll do it!" Ryeowook immediately shot his right hand up.
"Me too!" Kangin agreed.
"Same here!" Leeteuk nodded.
The thought of donating blood scared me because I was a little scared of needles, but I would do anything to help my love, so I raised my hand as well.
The doctor was stunned to see our determination that he nodded with a satisfactory smile, "Very well then. You can come by to do it tomorrow morning at 10am. Does that works for you all?"
"Absolutely! We'll be here." Leeteuk replied.
"Excellent."
"Um...doctor..is it okay if we see him now?" I asked.
The doctor looked at me and replied gently, "Sorry, but we can't let anyone in the operation room. You can see him tomorrow."
"Oh..." I looked down.
"Have a good night everybody." the doctor waved and left.

"Okay boys, let's go home and get a good night's sleep. We have a big thing to do tomorrow." Leeteuk ordered.
"Wait!" I paused and walked to the doors of the emergency room.
"Elphena, you're not supposed to go in there." Heechul warned.
I stopped in front of the doors and leaned against it with my hands touched on the frame. Tears flowed out again.
"Oppa, it's me, Elph. I hope to see you again. I...I never have the chance to tell you how I feel..." I could taste the salty sadness in my tears. It made my heart ached more. "Oppa...I love you. Saranghaeyo." I shut my eyes and hung my head.
A gentle hand wrapped on my shoulders, "Come on Elphena. Let's go." Kangin said.
I nodded shakily and followed him with the rest of the group back to the parking lot.

                                                                                             *                         *                            *

"Liz?" I gasped, "What are you doing here?"
She smiled and gave me a hug, "I'm here to donate blood."
"For Kyuhyun?"
"Uh huh!"
"But why?"
"What?" she raised her eyebrow, "Can't a friend help?"
"Well...yeah...I guess...but why didn't you tell me?"
Liz's parents stood behind her and smiled too, "We want to return the favour."
"For what?"
Liz's father turned back to wave at Leeteuk and Prince Manager who were in the process of the blood donation.
"For helping my daughter." he replied.
"Wow...uh...thank you!" I bowed.
"Plus, my dad and I have blood type O, so it's perfect." Liz winked.

"Okay! Let's see...uh...Elphena Azure Wong?" the nurse at the front read her clipboard.
I fidgeted a little, but I quickly stood up and let me feet forcing my whole body to move to an empty reclining chair.
"Don't be nervous, Elphena! It's actually not that bad." Leeteuk smiled beside me. He looked laid back on his chair with his right arm taped to a tube connected to a blood bag. I didn't know which one was more nasty. A needle to be pierced into my arm or a bag of blood transmitted from my system?
A nurse came by and discussed a set of procedures with me, including testing blood pressure and doing some arm exercises to release the tension in the muscles. She finally held out a needle and my eyes widened.
"Oh boy..." I gasped.
"It's okay, ma'am! Just relax. It's not gonna hurt." she smiled and pressed the needle gently onto my skin. I closed my eyes and bit my lip.
"Elphena! Fighting!" Leeteuk cheered.
I stayed still with my eyes sealed shut. I tried not to picture the needle going through my arm. Shortly, I felt her attaching the needle with tape.
"Now what?" I slowly opened my eyes.
"Now? You just have to wait till that bag over there is filled with your blood."
"Sounds eerie, but okay."
He hid his mouth with his good hand and chuckled. I stared at him in surprise.
"It's not eerie. This is just donating blood." he said.
"It's my first time donating blood, Teukie hyung." I mumbled.
"Ah! I see! Well, don't worry. You'll get used to it."

After ten minutes of watching short SuJu Youtube videos on my phone, I sensed someone peeling the tape off and removed the needle.
"You can rest here for ten more minutes, just to get you back on your feet." the nurse smiled and sealed my pint of blood.
"Okay." I nodded and looked at Leeteuk who looked refreshed. He sat up and looked back at me, "See? I told you it's not bad."
I smiled back. I prayed that with all of the blood collected, my dear Oppa would have his healthy body back...soon.

I just realized that I needed to go to the washroom, so I quickly excused myself.
Suddenly, I heard footsteps from my right. I turned and saw a familiar face I remembered back in Kyuhyun's cafe. Mrs. Cho walked towards me with a man with a business suit and glasses.
"Kyu's Mom and Dad!"  a voice said in my head.
Once they saw me , they stopped walking and stared. A chill ran down to my spine. I wanted to run straight to the washroom which was further down, but I knew it would be rude.
"Annyeong Haseyo!" the mother bowed, "You're Elphena, right?"
"Huh? Oh! Annyeong Haseyo!" I bowed back.
"Annyeong Haseyo, Elphena-ssi." the father bowed as well. I bowed back.

There was a silence. I was meeting my boyfriend's parents, parents of a Hallyu star. Oh my gosh...this just got super awkward!
Finally, the mother said, "Thank you."
I blinked, "Huh?"
"Thanks for everything. Kyuhyun has told us so much about you. You've made him happy ever since. And you're even here to donate blood to him. We can see that you've cared for our son." she explained.
I was just speechless. I only met her for a few minutes and she thanked me for loving her son!
The father nodded in agreement and added in a gruff but sincere voice, "He hasn't been in a relationship in a long time. And so we're grateful when we find out that he has found his lucky girl."
They looked happy. They sounded happy. Despite the physical condition their son was in, they were still happy to see me as a person who cared so much for Kyu.
"A lot of things happened ever since I bumped into him, but I'm thankful for knowing more of him and I love being with him. The thing is," tears starting to come out, "I want to thank you for giving birth and raising the best man I've ever known in my life. He may face unexpected tough times like this but he has overcoming every single one of them with a willing heart. Ever since I become an ELF, he inspires me to be strong as well."
Mr. Cho and Mrs. Cho nodded and smiled.
"I'm happy that he has achieved so much to become the person he is today. A man with ambition, with a heart, with humour....with everything. You've given him so much support in his career and you're concerned with his health as much as I do. He definitely is lucky to be your son, to be a part of Super Junior, and most of all...he's lucky to be my Oppa. I bet the ELFs feel the same way because they've been showering him with love for many years."
"We know, dear, we know." the mother smiled and walked to give me a hug. At that moment, I broke down and hid my face on her sleeve.
Little did I knew, the father came towards us and joined the hug.
"Just...thank you...kamsahamnida ....for having him." I said.

                                                                                              *                         *                           *

I was dragged by the boys to a radio station where they were scheduled to be guests that afternoon. I was about to sit in the control room when suddenly Leeteuk told me to go inside the studio.
"I thought you guys are the only guests there." I exclaimed.
"You are a guest as well. Remember when you said you want to clear the scandal?" he pointed out.
"Oh...right...but I've never been on air before, especially on a radio program."
"You'll be fine. Take it as a casual conversation but recorded."

I sat next to Leeteuk with a mic hanging in front of us. The host, Lee Nim, greeted his listeners with a brief speech before introducing us. Suddenly, the host switched his attention on me and asked me in Korean. I quickly shook my head. Leeteuk then translated, "He asked you how did you get to know Kyuhyun?"
I looked at him, "You mean he's asking me how we met from the start?"
"Yeap. Since you're here, you have to tell everything from the beginning."
I cleared my throat and allowed flashbacks to appear in my head.
"Well, it all started when I was in his cafe and then I accidentally bumped into him. He unexpectedly caught me and customers were just there taking photos and making them as a rumour that Kyuhyun and I had something between us." I paused for a while as Leeteuk translated back to Korean before I continued, "I hoped to forget about it until the paparazzi charged at me when I was on break in the middle of my class back in Seoul National University. I didn't know how did they get there but honestly I didn't know what to say in front of them. And then...I got fired because of the scandal that was spreading around...and Kyuhyun...well...he saved me from that mess. I escaped away from the horror for a while by spending a lot of time with him and the rest of Super Junior. I realize that...the more I'm with Kyuhyun, the more I have feelings for him."
Leeteuk then passed down the host's next question "He asked you whether the scandal is true since you said you have feelings for Kyuhyun."
"Yes, I do like Kyuhyun. In fact, I'm in love with him. And that's the truth." I nodded, "I like him as a fan at first, but now I like him even more as my real first love."
"A lot of fans will be jealous about this." Leeteuk translated from the host.
"Yes, I know that. And honestly, I think the fans should be happy and support us instead of not accepting us. I mean, yes, there are a lot of people who are hypnotized by Kyuhyun's looks, talent and charm, and their hearts will shatter if they see their bias being with someone, But let's face it. In real life, we are distracted by school, work, family, friends, dreams and a lot of other things. And one day in this world, you will ended up meeting someone. Someone who is interested in you. Someone who will inspire you to find yourself or to change yourself to be a better person. And if you keep being jealous just because the person you like happens to be interested in someone else, don't cling on to your negative feelings. It's pretty bad. If you don't accept the fact that we're together, I don't blame you. But as an ELF, you should know that our fan base name "Everlasting Friends" means friends who trust on one another for eternity. Super Junior creates that fan name for a reason, that is to love one another and to build a strong bond, just like their teamwork."

Everyone applauded. It was a response I didn't expect. Super Junior, the host, and radio staff were clapping and cheering for me.
"Why are you all clapping?" I exclaimed.
"Because you did it!" Leeteuk smiled, "You've told the truth. You've split what's on your heart. Now that's a true ELF."
A smile crawled on my face. Then, I spotted Liz who just came by from blood donation. Heechul's face lit up and immediately got up from his chair and darted into the control room. As I watched them talk, I noticed their cheeks turned red. Liz suddenly took out her phone right in front of Heechul. She seemed to be texting someone. As I was about to go there, my phone buzzed in seconds with a text,
OMG Heechul just asked me out for coffee!!!!! :D
I squeaked in delight and did a thumbs up. Liz who spotted me had the smile of a child after getting Halloween candy. Looks like someone was slowly replacing her bias from another K-Pop group. Liz, if you're reading this, your welcome. ;)

The radio session ended shortly and everyone gave each other a pat on the back, "You all have worked hard!"
I headed to the control room to grab my purse when suddenly the acoustic guitar ringtone blasted from my phone.
"Hello?" I answered.
"Hi, am I speaking to Miss Wong?" a male voice asked.
"Um...yes it is."
"This is Song Hyun, dean of Seoul National University. I was wondering if you can come over to my office as soon as possible?"
Question marks floated in my head. Did he just said I was to go to meet him?
"But I don't work there anymore."
"I know, but it's urgent. It's about your students."
"Who?"
"Miko and Kinora. I'll explain everything when you come here. I'll see you in my office."
